Giants of Africa x Sauti Kuu Foundation Auma Obama is the founder of Sauti Kuu Foundation and half-sister of Barack Obama.
The Official opening of Sauti Kuu Sports Vocational and Training Centre
The mission of Giants of Africa is to use basketball as a means to educate and enrich the lives of African youth. They aim to provide quality facilities, gear and coaches with the goal of growing the game of basketball within Africa. They create awareness and support for underprivileged children and young adults through our camps, which place emphasis on hard work, accountability, honest living and positivity. They strive to create opportunity not only as a player, but in other related areas – urging African youth to Dream Big.
Sauti Kuu Sports Vocational and Training Centre comprises of an international standard-size football pitch sponsored by the GermanMinistry for Development Cooperation, a basketball court sponsored by the Giants of Africa Foundation and a volleyball and netball court. Other facilities include a library, an information technology laboratory and a vocational centre “sponsored by multiple Sauti Kuu supporters, who will be in attendance”.
We were commissioned to document the town of Alego and the village of Kogelo in an authentic and raw lens.
